This struck me as quite similar to a bottle a few years ago. It may have come across as just a bit more Bordeaux. While a bit modern, I didn't pick up any pruney notes. I see no reason to think it can't go, and improve a bit longer.

Dark fruit, graphite, tobacco and wonderful spice note highlight this entry level Wine from Medoc. Good depth and texture. Surprisingly, the last glass was better than the first. It has a delightful nose. This wine is just starting to hit its stride. There should be another decade of drinking in its future. Good juice.

a bit weighty and new world upon opening. As it opened up, minerality came to dominate the fruit, making it seem much more Bordeaux (the other taster saw 'grass' rather than mineral) The finish lingered, though it was of moderate intensity. tannins are round and balanced, I think this can easily handle additional mid-term aging based on that balance.

Wow, I did not remember my last tasting so I said to myself that I had to taste this 10 years old médoc. Excellent typical medoc with cassis, raspberry and graphite. Silky tannins. Last bottle was surely faulty.

Really nice nose of typical medoc with cassis dominating. There is fruit in the mouth but the tannins are dry. 3 other bottles in the cellar. Don’t touch next before 3-4 years at least but I doubt the fruit will survive the time it takes for the tannins to soften.

More in the modern style, which I like having cut my teeth on Cali Cab. No fading whatsoever.

Dusty, earthy cedar nose. A full bodied wine, with good acidity, though very thick and dense. Concentrated blackberry fruit, cedar and a slightly bitter edge. Something not quite right about this wine.

A little underwhelmed, nice enough claret but not exciting and lacking a little Bordeaux character that I was looking for. Tannins still pretty firm and fruit generous and juicy but overall just left me a little flat and didn't have me racing back for another glass.

Decanted for 95 minutes and poured into the glass. A deep, dark ruby color, thick and leggy. The nose revealed cherry, graphite, cranberry, fig, honey, lilac, and graham cracker. The palate is quite different from the nose with much lighter red fruits, red currant, plum, green peppercorn, granite, burnt toast, honey graham cracker, cacao nib, an dried thyme. The finish is medium plus in length and the body is medium. The tannins are well integrated and acidity is high with some heat. Could age for another 6 years if properly cellared.

Tasted vis a vis the normal cuvee, this is certainly more (much more) concentrated, but other wise in the same polished lines; more chocolate here, more deep coffee notes, this is close to being overdone, and just keeps balance. I would not keep this much longer, but it is wine.candy as of yet. (steak haché at home).

This has come of age (though still driven by primary fruit) and settled down to a very nice, very modern, very polished Bordeaux-wine. It will probably live 10 years from now, but i do not see it improving much, the commercial, smooth look is what this is about. (with steak haché at home)

1 Year ago this was an amazing wine (92pt). This year it is fading. I buy it on sale because in Denmark the normal price is hilarious (typical for french wine). The sale price is on par with napa cabernets of similar price, which it seems to mimick. It has the broken down textures blackcurrants with woody earthy notes, but the fruits are almost gone now, while chewy tannins are still remaining on the finish, but it cuts it rather short. This is not how I remember it.

One hour decant before the first pour (give it at least a couple of hours if you can, the longer the better). Very dark pour, leggy in the glass. The bouquet is wonderful, filled with currant, tar, leather, violets, a touch of cedar, very dense. The palate was out of step with the bouquet but slowly integrated as the oxygen did its work. The currants and cedar were present, the fruit muted. A little grainy with tannins and medium acidity on the back of the tongue, the body of this wine is medium to heavy with a long tannic finish. Let this one breath like crazy!

Think ST has this spot on. Nice color, Bordeaux nose. Meaty wine, rich, fills the palate nicely. Good finish, really well mad wine. For once in a while a French wine I really enjoy at the price.

Quite dark red; powerful intense dark berries nose, some vanilla, a bit of tobacco; good depth, some tannins, quite masculine in expression; needs some air as it is quite tight straight from the bottle; good

Very young, with almost new world style. Lots of oak along with ripe fruit (late picking?).

Better on day 2. Wait 3+ years

Maybe slightly better than the last bottle and definitely better on day 1 than day 2. Good depth and concentration, rich cassis, firm but not overpowering tannins, cedary oak and coffee. Drinks well now but should improve.

Masculine and powerful, nearly Black, nose of dark fruit, roasted oak and leather. Palate mirroring nose but with dense forest flor on top. Demanding tannins. Very long aftertaste. Would buy again!

Color: Black in the center and dark crimson at the edges.

Nose: Oak, smoke, and alcohol are the most striking, plus blackberry/blueberry fruit, espresso, dark chocolate, and vanilla.

Mouthfeel: Huge, huge wine. Very thick and completely coats your mouth.

Palate: Oaky and chocolatey, with huge dark fruit and firm tannins. Super extracted, raisiny, and bombastic. Long, warm finish.

This wine is enormous and a perfect illustration of the super hot vintage. It definitely is impressive in many ways. The finish goes on forever, and the body is quite something. But for me, it's too much. Over-oaked, alcoholic on the nose, and the fruit tastes almost stewed. Just too big, and doesn't taste like Bordeaux. Reminds me more of an expensive but over-the-top Cali Cab or Aussie Shiraz. But if that's your thing, it over-delivers for the price and is well made.

Wonderful nose of dark fruits, licorice, smoky oak and earth lead the way to a full, extracted palate with plenty of fruit, oak and grip. Straight forward but with good balance, this is very nice now with some air and probably has the stuffing to really improve over the next 5 years and drink well for years after that.

A great surprise, this wine made my night.
A: M+ opacity black/ruby
N: M+ inten. SMells like left bank, loads of rich black leather,, very exciting nose, dried lilac, spicy sandalwood, winter evergreen forest, black currants (crushed), ripe red apple core
P: Med grippy tann M+ acid M+ finish hi- body hi- intensity
Loads of black leather, scorched black soil, spicy sandalwood, wet maduro, candied lemon zest.

Seems to have the stuffing to go for additional medium term cellaring. I plan to drink my remaining three bottles spaced through 2014. This wine will be a sure crowd pleaser.
